ST. JOSEPH, MISSOURI (September 2, 2021) - Nearly 50 Missouri Junior Cattlemen’s Association members, ages freshmen in high school to 21 years of age, recently traveled to Northwest Missouri on their annual Youth Industry Tour.

Throughout the weekend, members visited operations and heard from representatives from The Upper Cut KC, Wright Charolais, Farm N Friend Veterinary Clinic, 8 Story Farms, Northwest Missouri State University Agricultural Learning Center, Byergo Angus, Thummel Enterprises, Osage Grass & Livestock, and Waters Farms.

Sydney Thummel, MCA manager of membership, said the goal of the event is to expose attendees to Missouri’s vast beef industry.

"Missouri is home to an incredibly diverse agriculture industry. Our participants come from equally diverse backgrounds, and this tour provides an opportunity for them to think outside the box and see how other areas of the state raise cattle," Thummel said.
